During the week before the 25th April Saturday Volunteers’ day, the water pipe was installed and hosepipes attached.
We now have a ninety-metre water pipe covering the whole garden.
On the Saturday morning, over twenty Volunteers turned up to help cover the initial beds, with the nine tonnes of compost and the five tons of wood chips that had been delivered, to cover the cardboard bases on the beds.
We now have eight beds ready for planting.
Vegetable plug plants have been purchased to bring on, and a host of green manure seeds and companion plants for the next Volunteer session on the 16th of May – our big planting day.
We look forward to a productive day, in the hopefully bright Spring sunshine, and look forward to seeing everybody again.
In the meantime, Volunteers are taking time to water the very dry beds as we look forward to some rain!
